Quit It is made by TREMPIDO S.L. This policy explains exactly what the app does with your information. The short version: there is no account, and almost nothing leaves your phone.
No account, no sign-up
Quit It has no login. We never ask for your email address, phone number, or any other identifier. We have no way to know who you are, and no user database in which to look you up.
What stays on your device
Everything you write or record in the app is stored in a single file on your phone and is never uploaded to us:
- What you are quitting, and your start date
- Your name, if you chose to give one during setup
- Your stated reason, your goals, and your answers during setup
- Your daily pledges, evening reviews and check-ins
- Urges and triggers you log
- Your journal entries
- Your conversations with the coach
Because this data lives only on your device, deleting the app deletes it. You can export it at any time from Settings, and erase it from Settings → Delete all my data.
The coach
The coach is an AI feature and is the only part of the app that needs a network connection. When you send a message, that message and a short profile summary assembled from your setup answers are sent to Anthropic, which operates the model that generates the reply.
We do not store your conversations on our servers. They are sent, answered, and kept only on your device. Anthropic processes them to produce the reply under their own terms.
The coach is not a medical service. It cannot diagnose anything and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a therapist.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used, so we can see where people get stuck. PostHog is hosted in the European Union.
What we send: which screen was opened, how many days into a streak the device is, which answer category was chosen during setup, and whether a purchase started or completed.
What we never send: your name, your stated reason, your journal, your check-in answers, or anything you say to the coach.
These events are tied to a random identifier generated on your device, not to you.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold by Apple. We use RevenueCat to confirm whether a subscription is active. Neither we nor RevenueCat ever see your payment details, which are handled entirely by Apple.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled and delivered by your device. Their text is generated on the phone and never passes through us. Turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data. There is nothing to sell.
- We do not run advertising, and there are no advertising SDKs in the app.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Quotations on our pages
Public statements about getting sober by named people appear in the app and on this website. Those statements were made in interviews and in books, independently of Quit It and long before it existed. Those people are not affiliated with Quit It, have not used it, and do not endorse it. They are quoted because what they said is worth reading, not because they rate the product.
Children
Quit It is not intended for children.
Your rights
Because we hold no account and no personal data on our servers, there is no record for us to hand over or delete. Your data is in your hands: export it or erase it from within the app. If you want the analytics events from your device deleted, contact us and we will remove the events associated with your device identifier.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
